The 11th Iwate Manga Award contest aims to utilize manga as a medium to promote the beauty of the prefecture and to showcase Iwate’s brilliant manga culture.
All entries must be original works that have not been previously submitted or published.

All genres are accepted, and you may submit to either of the following categories:

*General category – Create your own short story that focuses on anything related to Iwate Prefecture
*1-4 panel (koma) manga category – Create at least one panel manga about Iwate Prefecture. More than one panels are also welcome.

We look forward to seeing pieces that feature anything about Iwate Prefecture’s cuisine, traditional crafts or performing arts, festivals, sports, World Heritage Sites,*New lifestyles, ILC (International Linear Collider) promotions, or anything else related to the prefecture  that you can think of!

In addition to receiving a monetary award,  works done by the winners of the grand prize and excellence award in the “General category” will also be published on Comic Iwate WEB.

The “1-4 panel manga category” will be further divided into general (high school and above) and junior divisions entries, which will be judged separately.
Entries from all ages, beginners or professional, are welcome.
Successful submissions may be published on the Comic Iwate WEB page.
