The Triennale of Kogei in Kanazawa City is an exhibition event held once every three years and will reach its fifth run in 2022. The “2022 Kogei World Competition in Kanazawa” held as part of this event is an international competition that showcases new innovations in craft (kogei), and has started accepting works from October 2021!

The theme for the competition is “Craft Visions.” We look forward to works that capture the essence of contemporary expression from the perspective of craft. The competition will encourage the participation of bold young artists by offering a new category of Next Generation Award for entrants under 35.

Works that pass the first round of judging, including award-winning entries, will be placed on exhibit at the People’s Gallery of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa from 13 to 30 November 2022 (Sun-Wed), for the 5th Triennale of Kogei in Kanazawa.
