【Kobe City】endeavours to disseminate about ‘Kobe Model’

As the population in Japan is rapidly aging, the issue of elderly dementia has increasingly become a focus policy area to most local governments in Japan. In this context, Kobe City has taken the lead in formulating the ‘Kobe Model’ to address this issue.

The Kobe Model comprises of 2 main pillars, one is the ‘Subsidy Program for Diagnosis of Dementia’ (no payment required from the individual), and the other one is the ‘Dementia Accident Relief Assistance Program’ which compensates the insured elderly with dementia in time of accident.

Due to the fact that the issue of an aging society is expected to become a common issue worldwide in the future, Kobe City endeavours to disseminate information about the Kobe Model so that every country could benefit and ensure the welfare of the local elderly population.
